The Day I Learned of the Extinction of My Favorite Blobfish

I know some of you are über excited because of an upcoming Hop-iday, and you have a day off I'm finally back with a second entry! You'll have to excuse my erratic updates. It's only going to get worse. And better at some point. And then back to worse.

Anyway.

My post today is dedicated to a very serious cause. After watching Disney Nature's "Oceans", which was conveniently playing on Earth Day on the Movie Network, I immediately switched to save-our-ocean mode, while my mind was swiftly gathering a collection of information and memories related to the subject.

And then my brain suddenly hit the pause button at a certain crisp and clear memory: The day I learned of the extinction of my favorite blobfish.

Obviously, you can tell by the picture he was very sad as well.

I can definitely recall that some blobfish hater posted some rather rude comment: "OMG he so ugly no wonder he's extinct". Just remember, fish have feelings too. Also, there should an apostrophe followed by an 's' after "he".

But seriously, it's Earth Day. We should all take a minute to think of some positive environmental action we can take to ensure the safety of our Oceans and to bring the smile back to our favorite blobfish :)

Moving Day Was Four Days Ago but It's Still Driving Me Crazy

Okay, so I finally decided to move back to Montreal after pouring a lot of thought into the idea.  Was it a good idea, was it?! Let's ponder with a visual image.

That is a picture of the current mess in the house. A big, huge pile of mess. As of April 10, I invaded not only my old room, but the small computer room, the little space there was in the living room and the not-really-spacious garage as well. Actually, it is not really a picture of a mess; to call it a doodle is much more accurate. If you are wondering what the hell are the weird drawings in the top corners, these are tornadoes to depict drama. I did not want to take a picture since my obvious hoarding is very unlikeable in the lens of my favourite Canon Rebel T1i camera.

However, I secretly love to re-arrange my entire living space. Getting rid of layers of unused objects, scribbled notes and clothes that don't fit me anymore is quite uplifting. No more piles of CDs. Good bye useless pen! But, shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone, or my reputation as a messy person will be forever destroyed!

Anyway, other than that, I just came back from Samana (almost the coolest place on Earth) on Sunday (yes, coincidentally on the same day I was moving) and was cruelly welcomed with red spots on my skin. Seems like it didn't like the lack of humidity and Canada's cold, shivering weather (boo you, maple leaf country!!!). That brought quite a few dormant frown lines back to life. Luckily, my skin's (half) back to normal. Almost.

What can I say about Samana... Weather was absolutely lovely, the Gran Bahia Portillo hotel and the beach were both highly enjoyable. As for the food, I rate it a 3 out of 5. The only good restaurant was the French one. Regarding the Asian one, I cannot find a word to describe its horror. Just one word of advice: Don't eat the sushi. Just don't.

I'm currently editing the 142 photos in Photoshop/Aperture. It's taking quite a while, but I... (inserts long pause)... (inserts second long pause)... Okay, so I'm not telling you my secret now, but will maybe tell you about my project once it's done.

Oh, well! I'll post a preview of the pictures I've taken in the next entry. Awesomeness! Meanwhile, enjoy my self-portrait, which can also be found in the above title-picture.
